Parents and cell phones! I hate to pass judgment, but here are some tips and reminders why we need to be mindful. Everyone is clearly overusing cell phones its not only kids that are over using parents are too. Remember kids model adult behavior, this is how they grow to be functioning adults. It makes me crazy when I see a child and adult dining and the parent is ignoring the child talking to a friends or texting. Children need interaction with parents they need to feel acknowledged and secure, which helps them in their social skills and future self-esteem it begins when a baby smiles, the parent smiles back and laughs, so does mom and dad this is called “mirroring.”
Parents over use of cell phones around kids, can cause emotional and physical dangers, When a parent is ignoring there child and always on the phone I call it the“emotional freeze out”, the poor kids have to compete with a phone, this causes a lot of anxiety for kids and they are start seeking attention any way they can get it. Kids also misbehave when they know there parents are distracted.
I don’t want to shame parents but here are guidelines that we can all use, even when we are working and taking kids on a outing at the zoo.
1. Do not use the phone at meal time, engage with your family Have a phone basket during dinner every ones phone goes in the basket until meal time is over
2. When at events WATCH your children, be engaged in the event, put your phone on vibrate and tell your other family member friends what you are doing so they wont be calling or texting you at that time
3. If you are mobile working, hold your Childs hand or have help watching them if you are returning messages
4. If you have a call to answer keep it brief, and don’t get into long conversations
5. Speak softly, respect surroundings
6. Remember you don’t have to be in constant contact
7.Send out a auto response that “I'm unavailable , if its a emergency call this number
8.Dont be looking at your phone crossing street, driving, and at the movies with the bright light
9. Show children by example, if I hear one more stupid, waste of time conversation while standing on line, as the kids run around I'm going to say "excuse me, but…"
10. I also think that parents need to help each other out, if you have a important call to make during a outing I know most moms would have no problem keeping a eye on your child for a few minutes.
11. If you need to check your phone, acknowledge the people you are with and say excuse me, I have to check my phone.
Sheraton New York Time Square #kids #parties, oh yes! I highly recommend it was a blast, for Mom and Dad too!
Parents, do you have fun at your kids party? I think last year when the Hawaiian luau had to be moved indoors because of the storm, and I had to cancel the flame throwers and hire my trainer from the gym to entertain, as well as the zumba teacher to be the Hula dancer, I said to myself the next year I'm having a fun, stress free party. I love my daughters birthday, she was born on Mothers's Day so its always a special to me. I've done sleepovers, backyard Hawaiian parties, spa parties, Lady bug party, Alice in Wonderland, Broadway, Candy Land. Even when I have it at a restaurant, its still lugging decorations, gift bags, and the after party party! This year I wanted to do something that was enjoyable for my husband and myself. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed all the other parties but this year I left it to to the incredible, professionals at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=421 Special thanks Melissa Braverman, who treated us like family! http://www.sheratonnewyork.com
The best part was was the kids had fun and so did my husband and I.
The benefits of honey are amazing, as demonstrated on Dr.Oz my favorite is Manuka Honey which promotes skin regeneration, repairs cellular damage and lessens appearance of wrinkles.
Hydrates: When applied to your skin, manuka will hold in moisture and absorb moisture from the air for a dewy, glowing complexion.
Anti-aging: Because of its moisturizing properties, manuka retains moisture without making skin oily, the first step in wrinkle-free skin.,helps slow down enzymes that destroy collagen.
My favorite is Wedderspoon brand, because I know its pure, not mixed with fillers like some other brands you can purchase at http://wedderspoon.com. On the Dr Oz show, I showed my favorite manuka honey mask, it is with cinnamon and apply it as a mask. Steam your skin, pay dry and apply a thin layer of manuka blended with a pinch of cinnamon. Leave on for 20 minutes and gently wipe off. Close pores after by rinsing with cold water. Use the same mixture as a spot treatment and leave on overnight to see blemishes disappear.
Cleanser: Add a few drops of hot water to a quarter-sized dollop of Wedderspoon Manuka and cleanse massage around your entire face for three minutes (make sure you're not wearing any makeup). Gently wipe off with a washcloth or sponge for extra exfoliation.
Dark spot treatment: To fade acne scars, brighten and resurface the skin, mix a quarter-sized dollop of Wedderspoon manuka, fresh-squeezed lemon and a teaspoon of olive oil. Massage mask into steamed skin and allow the mixture to work its magic for 20 minutes. Rinse and close pores with cool water.
Manuka honey is often graded as "12+ or "16+," which indicates its concentration of beneficial compounds and antioxidants, so the higher the number, the stronger the antibiotic effect. http://wedderspoon.com
Chasing the dream of life balance is exhausting. We, as women, spend more time giving to everyone else, leaving ourselves bankrupt. As the nurturers of the world, we are born with an innate gift to give; however, when we decide to give to ourselves, it is looked at as selfish. Some of us hate telling people no in fear of disappointing them at the cost of our sanity. That mentality has stopped many successful women reach their full potential in life and in business.
I am compelled to write to you to give you the confidence boost you need to come out of the shadows and speak up, demanding the life you deserve. You have a voice and hopefully these 5 steps will help you find it and ignite the inner strength you need to finally SPEAK UP!
Step One – Realize everyone is NOT going to like you.
The first thing I think every woman entrepreneur should understand is that your gifts and talents are not for everyone and that’s okay. As you understand your purpose, you will attract all those kindred spirits that you were sent for. Have you noticed that many entrepreneurs will name their audience?
Names like tribes, societies, newbies, armies, etc. are given to give them a sense of inclusion and letting your audience know you were sent for them and them alone. You’re either in the tribe or you’re not. The more you focus on the people that don’t like you, the less time you will be able to focus on the audience that’s waiting for someone just like you to speak directly to them.
Step Two – Believe you have a lot to offer.
You’ve probably said one hundred times, “Why would anyone want to listen to me?” Or, “that’s been done already, so why bother?”
When I got the idea to start G2 Organics, I didn’t look at all the other product lines out there. I knew that my beliefs and ideas were worth all the money and work to get it in the hands of customers around the world.
I believed so much in my voice that I couldn’t keep silent about it. Regardless of how many people have done it before you, no one will be able to transform that idea using your feminine energy and knowledge. Every trial, failure, and victory has led you to this moment. Seize it!
Step Three – Understand the role of competition.
We are bombarded by society to be in constant competition with each other. If you’ve seen two celebrities wear the same outfit on the red carpet, the headline the next day will read, ‘Who wore it better?’ For the single ladies at weddings, they fight to the death for the bride’s bouquet. There’s no need to be defensive and even snippy with other women. Realize that we are greater in numbers and the community that you’re able to build will elevate your thinking and status in so many ways.
I challenge you to find at least two like-minded women that can give you the much needed motivation to keep going. They will feed the woman that you are and the entrepreneur that you’re striving to be. These women will hold you accountable to your goals and a little friendly competition never hurt.
Step Four – Prepare for success.
I love to hear people say, “She came out of nowhere!” In reality, no she didn’t. There were years of planning and preparation before anyone knew her name. It takes a lot of work to be spontaneous. If you have an important meeting scheduled, show up early and have a pre-meeting, breaking the ice with conversation. When you’re in a relaxed state, your feminine energy shines and your mind is clear to communicate your ideas effectively.
The more you prepare that speech, presentation, or meeting, you are giving yourself room to adjust to last minute changes. You are able to simply acknowledge life’s hiccups and make the immediate adjustments. Luck is your preparation that meets the opportunities.
Step Five – Take the physical and emotional risks as an entrepreneur.
As an entrepreneur your greatest successes will come out of your greatest failures. You’re going to have to take the leap out of your comfort zone to take the risks necessary to get results. Some of our favorite inventions like the microwave, chocolate chip cookies, and even the potato chip were all products of the inventor’s mistake. Having your own business is exciting and exhilarating, but never lose your ability to throw your ideas to the walls and see what sticks.
As a wife, mother, and businesswoman, I wear many hats and sometimes I amaze myself when I get it all done. It takes work, but it’s not as hard as you think. Every no is one step closer to a yes! Will you be ready?
I look forward to meeting you at the Speak Up Women Conference on March 5th at the United Nations and hearing about your experience!

It was one snowy day right after the storm hit the city. The weather was freezing cold and sunny and the road was extremely messy. I had to get up from the bed at 8 am and dressed up for Kung Fu Panda 3 screening event with Kate Hudson and Lucy Liu, by www.themoms.com but that was not what excited me; the only reason to why I had the enthusiasm to get up and dress early in the morning in a freezing weather was the opportunity to learn from Cherie Corso. Cherie is an innovative founder of G2 Organics www.g2organics.com, blogger www.cheriecorso.com, mom, and of course my boss! G2 Organics? Are you sure they are true organics? Yes my dear, I can assure you they all are organics, odorless, and colorless. You know what I love about odorless products? First, they are not too confident that we would accept their choice of scent. Second, we can add our scent to the product. For example, you can spray your favorite perfume on the spot where you apply the Hickey Stick. Your perfume will last longer and get much stronger because the Hickey Stick traps the molecules so they do not evaporate as much as they would without the Hickey Stick.
New York, New York– Lets face it ladies, nobody wants to have major plastic surgery, we all just want to just look good, we want to look refreshed. I went to a great event at The Lucy Peters Aesthetic Center in NYC they are the "hair removal experts" with a recently released original infographic designed to visually break down the facts, numbers and figures behind the various benefits of hair removal techniques. Their exclusive, 100% guaranteed permanent integrated hair removal technology, Smooth System by Lucy Peters has inspired the graphic creation providing a clear alternative method to rid every hair, everywhere, on all diverse skin types. I had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with the manager and international beauty expert Certified LP System Technician. Kinga Bagnowska, is amazing, her expertise and knowledge of skin, ageing and hair removal was "mind blowing". I so enjoyed spending time with her.
The info-graphic starts off with the basics including:
A single hair has about a lifespan of 5 years. The growth rate for human hair is about 6 inches per year while hair removal is the 4th most common minimally invasive procedure. The FDA approved the use of commercial lasers for permanent hair reduction in 1997 and the number of hair removal procedures performed in the US increased by 47% between 2000 and 2011.
The Common Treatment Areas for Hair Removal on Women include:
- Upper Lip
- Bikini Area
The Common Treatment Areas for Hair Removal on Men include:
The Top 3 Benefits of Permanent Hair Removal:
- Time Saver
- Smoother Skin
- Saving Money
The average woman spends an average of 10.9 minutes per shave. Most females follow a beauty regime where shaving is appropriate approximately 3 times per week (130.8 minutes per month). When you add that all up it totals 58.4 days. This equals an estimation of 7,718 times a woman shaves in her lifetime! Between the cost of shaving products alone, women may spend up to $15.87 per month as the common median. Times that for the year, you have a total of $190.44. This concludes in the span of a lifetime, the average lady is looking to fork over $10,207 just on shaving products.
However, there are cost-effective alternatives. Using the same basic principles and logic, waxing may run you about $23,000 a lifetime while Laser or Permanent Hair Removal reaches only a mere $3,000 for a smooth, hairless and ageless skin.

Kung Fu Panda 3, opens today in theaters, I had a sneak preview. I especially liked this move because I'm a Reiki Master and spiritual junkie, I believe in Karma, energy from the universe and trusting your chi. I do believe this is the best Kung Fu Panda movie. Everyone agreed, The Moms, press, bloggers, kids, we all loved it. I especially liked when we got up close and personal with Kate Hudson and Lucy Liu. Yes ladies they were great, very open and answered all our questions.
Nickolas F. Lumanpauw, my smart quick acting intern (www.g2organics.com) from Fordham University got the only "selfie" of the day with Kate Hudson. They had a great moment!
The average person uses 10-12 beauty products before they leave their home every morning. Starting with shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, deodorant, gel, makeup and even more lotions and potions to be groomed in order to feel good. This adds up to 500 chemicals daily one puts on their body that gets absorbed. Studies show that children are having puberty earlier, mens testosorin levels are down, and cancer on the rise. The movement is to be healthier, be green, to be good to the environment by using organic and natural beauty products. We are bombarded everyday with “noise” about how to look better, be healthier. Now is a time to rebuild and rethink what we are doing to reach a healthy balance.
Throughout history cosmetics have played a role in shaping peoples lives. One drop at a time we can help ourselves and the environment.
*Buy products made in the USA, no animal testing
