Overprotective Parenting are you hurting or helping? The Doctor agree’s with me!
Parenting today has become a profession with some muzzy's and daddy's! I still can't believe what I see at times, lets let our kids grow up to be healthy productive adults. I think by smothering them and giving them everything its hurting them now and in the long run. We all see it with helicopter mothers, resulting kids living at home well in their 30's. or still being financially dependent, even when grown and have families which is worse. I have so much to say on the subject but time flies when on the radio especially when I'm enjoying the conversation with my hosts and call in guests. I like them both, and they give great advice in a fun easy listening style.
I'm a hands on Parenting Expert, and Power Parenting Radio starring Dr Robert Melillo @DrRobMelillo is very informative and friendly the balance in the show is his lovely intelligent wife Carolyn listen it out it's a great Parenting Radio Show http://lifestyletalkradio.com So much to say on the subjects is a
There's much to be considered when it comes to raising our kids today-and much to be frightened about. Parents are bombarded with stories of unsafe toys, violence in schools, cyber-bullying, teen sex, cyber-sexual predators, pedophiles loose on the streets, drugs, alcohol, obesity and the list goes on. When faced with this, who wouldn't worry?
However, many of these worries are overblown and unfounded. Crime-rates, early pregnancies, violence, school drop out rates and smoking have declined in recent years. In fact, children are generally safer today than in the past. Education, enforced safety measures and engineering of safety devices combine to make up this improvement.
More and more students are reaching university not knowing how to do things for themselves. Parents think they are helping young people by doing things for them but they are actually making them less independent.
Overprotective parents send the message that their children can’t handle life’s challenges on their own. This can lead to a lack of self-confidence in these children. They may feel that if their parents don’t trust them with the freedom to make mistakes and tackle problems on their own, then they may not have the ability to succeed in life without the continued guidance of their parents. I say trust your parenting tools and let your kids, be. Be a loving caring parent, instead of "policing and trying to catch and prevent" the natural bumps of life. No guarantees either way so pray relax and trust your parenting skills. I also highly reccomend this book.

Molly Sims, Unleash the Super Model in YOU! The Everyday Supermodel: My Beauty, Fashion, and Wellness Secrets Made Simple
Molly Sims was so real and beautiful at a lunch I attended and she hosted by The Mom's in New York City at Artistanal, 2 Park Ave.Artisanal Fromagerie Bistro | New York French Restaurant
She is expecting her second child, and first girl in only two months. Baby girl will join brother Brooks Allan Stuber and daddy, Scott Stuber. She was signing and promoting her new book The Everyday Supermodel: My Beauty, Fashion, and Wellness Secrets Made Simple
Molly wore her hair a high ponytail, it was her real hair, I did not see any clips, LOL. My hair on the otherhand needed a little somethin, I did do beach waves but my hat killed it walking up Park Ave to Artistanal. Molly accessorized with wore a chunky statement necklace that highlighted her gorgeous face.
The ex-model and yoga enthusiast looked amazing in a bright red swing dress by Lisa Perry. Ms Perry's designs frequently nod back to the mod 60s and groovy 70s. This center-seamed swing dress. I swear I almost wore the same (I SWEAR!!) dress, its not a maternity dress.
Molly, while 5 feet, 10 inches, wore classic pumps in black. They showed off her yoga legs, no stockings in winter, and her legs looked great, good motivation looking at her. I was surrounded by talent, the movie producer and filmmaker of 40 Weeks was also dinning with us, I have to watch this movie sounds fasinating, again the name is 40 Weeks, the Pregnancy Documentary Big Belli, MomLifeTV believes in the power of women and the strength of Mom. This 2013 Webby Award Honoree promotes 40 Weeks.
I read Molly's book and its perfect, she shares, she tells all the modeling secrets. Being a former model, I love this book its a reminder of taking care of yourself, never giving up and how to cover the flaws. Its perfection! I always use two BB creams in different shades, she does the same!! Talking about sharing, I met the founders of Moxy and Main. Its a websight that three smart savey women created,it is a national destination for the fiercely fabulous mom. Check us out for exclusive events, great content, giveaways, and so much more. Make Your New Year’s Resolutions With Self-Love for 2015
Make Your New Year’s Resolutions With Self-Love for 2015!!
It often seems that with the new year come New Year’s Resolutions. They’re usually some variation of “work harder,” “try harder,” “do more” and “deprive yourself.”
I thought I’d share an excerpt from Kahlil Gibran’s beautiful and wise words about work from The Prophet.
. . . . Work is love made visible.
And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.
For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger.
And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distills a poison in the wine.
And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night.

Annie Movie 2k14 Review #AnnieMovie, We loved it!
Annie is a heart warming film we loved Annie the movie.
This modernized take of the adored Tony-award-winning musical, which had been based on the popular 1920s “Little Orphan Annie” comic strip and subsequent radio shows, catapulted many starlets to celebrity including Sarah Jessica Parker and Tony nominee Andrea McArdle.
Phenom Quvenzhané (
Wallis, at age five, had to lie about her age to audition for her very first acting job—the starring role in Beasts of the Southern Wild—because the minimum age to be considered was six. She eventually beat out some 4,000 contenders for the role of Hushpuppy—the indomitable child prodigy and survivalist who lives with her dying father in the backwoods bayou squalor of Louisiana.[10] Director Benh Zeitlin told The Daily Beast that when he auditioned Wallis, he immediately realized he had discovered what he was looking for, and changed the Beasts script to accommodate her strong-willed personality. Her reading ability, loud scream, and the skill of burping on command impressed the director and won her the part. Zeitlin has also stated that "It was just the feeling behind her eyes."
The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2012 to rave reviews, winning the Grand Jury Prize. In May 2012, Wallis flew to France for the premiere of the film at the Cannes Film Festival. The film received much acclaim and praise for Wallis' outstanding performance and it went on to win the prestigious Caméra d'Or award for Best first Feature Film. On January 10, 2013, at age nine, Wallis became the Academy Awards' youngest nominee for Best Actress and third youngest in all categories.[12] However, she was just six during the filming.[13] Wallis is the first African-American child actor to earn an Oscar nomination. She is also the first person born in the 21st century to receive an Academy Award nomination.
She had a role in Steve McQueen's Academy Award–winning film 12 Years a Slave (2013), alongside Lupita Nyong'o, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Brad Pitt. Also in 2013, she collaborated with Sundance for the second time on a short film called Boneshaker.
In 2014, Wallis played the title character in a remake of the musical Annie.[14] For this, she was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actress – Musical or Comedy. In May 2014, Wallis was named the face of Armani Junior, Giorgio Armani's line for children and teens.[15] This makes her the first major child celebrity to be the face of a luxury bran)
Wallis proves her Oscar-nomination for Beasts of the Southern Wild was no accident. As a modern-day Annie, Wallis brightens with her blissful portrayal. although, her performance alone can’t conserve the film from being a dim adaptation.
In this 2.0 version, eternal-optimist Annie hasn't’t given up hope that her parents will return someday to claim the baby they left. She always sneaks out of the rat-infested household of her foster mom, Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz), to aspire out her long-lost family.
In steps Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx), a germaphobic telecommunications tycoon turned political candidate, who gets advice from his conniving campaign manager Guy (Bobby Cannavale) that taking in a foster child would amplify his poll amounts.
We cried, sand and were entertained by the movie, it had heart and had a great lesson, to never give up hope or let life beat you down, Cameron Diaz was hysterical as Miss Hannigan.
For the most part, the movie teeters between staying true to the theater version and keeping the plot fresh in a modern world. This appears, somewhat, during the mash-ups of the original musical favorites such asHard Knock Life but falters during the uninspired original songs written by Sia (Chandalier), Greg Kurstin and director Will Gluck. In a world where Glee,Pitch Perfect and The Voice co-exist, you simply expect more from a film in which Jay-Z is a producer. We expected more from songs about NYC.
Academy Award-winner and Terrell native Jamie Foxx does an good job of selling Stacks as the tech-forward “Daddy Warbucks.” Foxx is also the only one of the lead characters who can carry a tune but even he seems out of sorts with sidekicks Cannavale and Rose Byrne (as Grace). The high tech penthouse compared to Daddy Warbucks House was perfect. It was stunning!
The scene in which Grace gives Annie a tour of the Stacks’ penthouse is disjointed and awkward, mainly because of Byrne’s befuddled rendition of I Think I'm Gonna Like It Here and stilted (for effect?) dance moves.
We met the actors who played the foster kids, during a Q&A and posed for pictures. I rate this movie a 8 out of 10, bring the family and enjoy!
Every Woman Should have a #Gay #Trainer, and if he danced with #NYCBallet even better!
My 5 reasons why I think every woman should have a gay trainer:
1. You don't have to worry about the sexual tension, or innuendos, when in awkward positions
2. You will not feel intimidated. He will be your best friend and give you his undying loyalty.
3. You will feel a sensitivity that only a gay man can offer.
4.You don't have to worry about your boyfriend or husband getting jealous.
5. You will feel empowered by the honesty and truth.
I have worked out with many trainers in my life, and I have come to the conclusion that a gay trainer is a woman's secret weapon. My favorite in NY is Peter Cirolia, a former American Ballet dancer (10 S Division St, New Rochelle 914-365-1862, www.BalletMuscle.com). A licensed personal trainer, health coach, and ballet master, Cirolia drew upon his 16 years of dancing and studying with The School of American Ballet to create a class that is very similar to the actual training used by the New York City Ballet. “This is a great way to get toned, aligned, and balanced—just like a professional dancer. I want to share what I love, ballet, and help people” he says. I attended Peter's ballet class, the vibration of excellence filled the room. I felt like I was a part of something bigger then me. I always say try something new and get out of your mind and into your body. This did it… I was a ballerina! I worked every muscle in my body, without lifting a weight or getting on the treadmill. Peter loves what he does and gives knowledge that could only be attained by his personal experience of dancing with the NYC Ballet. Peter has a method of combined personal training and ballet, which is genius, he calls it Ballet Muscle, I'm hooked!
