Happy Earth Day 2016! To celebrate such an important occasion, I have curated a special selection of mouth-watering items that will make your life easier and more environmentally-conscious. Who said that green couldn't be chic?

1. Lavender aromatherapy candle by Lather ($10): This gorgeous candle is made exclusively with natural ingredients. Manufactured with paraffin-free and 100% natural soy wax, a spun cotton wick, lavender essential oil and lavender buds, this wonderful candle quickly scents the room with a soothing and calming fragrance. This is one of my personal favorite candles to pair with a relaxing bath or for burning after a stressful day, right before I go to bed.
 
2. Organic Manuka Honey Lozenges by Wedderspoon ($11.99): Want to bring some USDA Organic Certified goodness in your life? These eucalyptus lozenges are a life saver. Chock-full with manuka honey and bee propolis, they are great to soothe raspy throats without synthetic nasties. Since I discovered them, I always carry a few lozenges in my purse- with this crazy New York spring weather you never know what to expect!
 
3. Organic mini bath bombs by G2 Organics ($15): The perfect companion for the lavender aromatherapy candle, these small bombs are big in natural contents. One bath bomb is enough to draw a relaxing bath that also soothes and calms the skin (mine is extremely dry, and I have found these beauties also leave it hydrated. Yay!) 5. Pure Castile Rose Liquid Soap by Dr. Bronner ($10.99/ 16 oz.): This liquid soap boasts one of the cleanest vegetable oil-based formulas out there. Made with organic and certified fair-trade ingredients, Dr. Bronner's soap is created after the original formulas originating from the Castile region in Spain, with which I'm personally acquainted. Vegetable oil-based Castile soaps have been used in my country for centuries, and I'm really glad to report that Dr. Bronner's formula is very much what I expected.

This is a genuinely ecological and simple soap that can be used for almost anything: To clean your face, your body, or even your home – it's a great ally to wash food, do the dishes, get a sparkling laundry, mop your floors, or clean your pets– with no synthetic preservatives, detergents or foaming agents. This means no Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate, a common chemical detergent to which I am extremely allergic. I personally use Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Liquid Soap to clean my kitchen and my bathroom; by mixing it with baking soda, it attacks the toughest grease stains. However, and because it is a very concentrated formula, you need to dilute it to get the best results. 6. Parenting today has become a profession with some muzzy's and daddy's!  I still can't believe what I see at times, lets let our kids grow up to be healthy productive adults. I think by smothering them and giving them everything its hurting them now and in the long run. We all see it with helicopter mothers, resulting kids living at home well in their 30's. or still being financially dependent, even when grown and have families which is worse. I have so much to say on the subject but time flies when on the radio especially when I'm enjoying the conversation with my hosts and call in guests. I like them both, and they give great advice in a fun easy listening style.

I'm a hands on Parenting Expert, and  Power Parenting Radio starring  is very informative and friendly the balance in the show is his lovely intelligent wife Carolyn listen it out it's  a great Parenting Radio Show So much to say on the subjects is a 

There's much to be considered when it comes to raising our kids today-and much to be frightened about. Parents are bombarded with stories of unsafe toys, violence in schools, cyber-bullying, teen sex, cyber-sexual predators, pedophiles loose on the streets, drugs, alcohol, obesity and the list goes on. When faced with this, who wouldn't worry?

However, many of these worries are overblown and unfounded. Crime-rates, early pregnancies, violence, school drop out rates and smoking have declined in recent years. In fact, children are generally safer today than in the past. Education, enforced safety measures and engineering of safety devices combine to make up this improvement.

More and more students are reaching university not knowing how to do things for themselves. Parents think they are helping young people by doing things for them but they are actually making them less independent. 

Overprotective parents send the message that their children can’t handle life’s challenges on their own. This can lead to a lack of self-confidence in these children. They may feel that if their parents don’t trust them with the freedom to make mistakes and tackle problems on their own, then they may not have the ability to succeed in life without the continued guidance of their parents. I say trust your parenting tools and let your kids, be. Be a loving caring parent, instead of "policing and trying to catch and prevent" the natural bumps of life. What? Kids drink beer, women threw bricks in butchers window when they raised the prices. Yes learn all about the history of the tenements and how it all started. We loved it, it was our second visit and the impact it made on the kids and myself is a great experience. I think its a eye opener when your actually sitting in the space where it all happened. After the educational trip take a walk over to Little Italy and dine at original Benito One, you will be greeted by the owner world famous James Bari and served by MARCO, the best waiter in NYC. He knows how to treat a customer! My meeting  Dance Moms,  Abby Lee Miller and Parenting IMG_7852Abby Lee Miller, star of Dance Mom's is the ultimate tiger mom with heart and insight on how to employ tough-love to inspire children to achieve success. “If you want to help your kid reach the top, you can find no better coach than Abby Lee Miller. Some may criticize her methods,  but no one argues with her results. Her kids excel, (at what price)  her teams win and her alumni go on to Broadway careers,” reads the publisher’s description about her new book.IMG_7853

I was curious to meet Abby Lee too. After hearing the good the bad and the ugly  about Abby Lee from my daughter and her friends.  I wanted to meet AbbyLee in person, to see what she was really like. We  purchased tickets $75.00 each, which includes meet and greet, T-Shirt, introduction and photo. The pictures tell the story, but I will tell you my  personnel read on Abby LeeMiller. She looked fabulous, slimmed down, weight loss was well over 50 lbs. She was tanned and very friendly and a beautiful smile. We chatted a bit about parenting and kids. I liked her style, very direct, truthful and upfront. My daughter had her picture with Maddie Ziegler  and Mackenzie Ziegler the girls,  "put her feet together" she instructed . I think she has the knowledge, experience and the drive to push her "BRAND" to a new frontier. IMG_7851

HOWEVER as a mother I do have a problem with depersonalization of girls being depicted or treated as sexual objects. I was gobslapped watching the video of Maddie Ziegler in a cage. I know Abby Lee did not choreograph but still, uncomfortable to watch.

I am all for the arts and creativity, but  I do not like inappropriate imageries  imposed on girls through marketing or products directed at them that encourages them to act in adult sexual ways. Why, after the video "Elastic Heart" starring Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Ziegler, choreographed by Ryan Heffington. As a mother I am mad!  After the video was made & launched then everyone  saw the light and realized is was  wrong? They knew exactly what they were doing when making this video. The girls I know who love Dance Moms said this video was "uncomfortable  to watch, and who is the old guy?" The public has spoken, the kids like the dances and AbbyLee yelling at the mothers, the girls who watch do not want to see the sexualization of " Dance Moms"  girls.

My personal experience with  Marylouise was incredible, she framed some vintage posters,  art work, that look amazing in my home.

Judge professed that she loves her job and will accommodate customers as best she can. She can frame almost anything,  flags, sports memorabilia, she even framed a glass wedding plate with invitation, kids artwork looks amazing.

Brooke Shields, her Mother was ahead of her time and had vision!

I finally met Brooke Sheilds, the one and only, eye brows and all!  It was a rainy day in NYC, but felt warm by the hospitality of The Moms and Homewood Suites Midtown Manhattan.She was very real and honest like her new book Brooke Shields There Was a Little Girl.  I have always been fascinated by her, and had questions about her life.  She answers all in her book, from running down the hall naked after she lost her virginity, to sexless dates with George Michael, and John Travolta, no surprise! Brooke is still beautiful, and a little heavier, then expected, she was funny and truthful.The younger generation know her as  Brooke Shields: 'Hannah Montana' Mom Calls Miley Cyrus …

I asked her if other Mothers were jealous of her? She said that when people have problems with her its usually, about them and things going on in their life vs about her. We all have stuff going on. IMG_7204

She spoke about her Mother in a very respectful honest account of her life. She said  both made choices, and incredible sacrifices, that would affect their relationship forever. When Teri died in 2012 Brooke was by her side, both loving and conflicted to the end. Teri s death led to yet another media firestorm about who the world thought she was. But only Brooke knows the truth of the remarkable, difficult, complicated woman that was her mother. And now she'll share all in her memoir. I think her mother was ahead of her time.

I'm almost finished with the book, and love it, I actually look forward to reading it in the evening. Its never a easy road to success, but Brooke did it, even graduation Princeton University, she is married now with two children. Life is good. I think her Mother was way ahead of her time with her vision, and found it hard to cope with life and "stuck people", thats why I think she drank. God Bless her and she did show a lot of people new ways of looking at the world through art and humor. I liked her Mother after I read this book and spoke to Brooke.

I liked Rick Springfield in person, he was fun, very relaxed and open. He talked about worries he has, family, fame and how he suffers from depression. The Moms, Melissa Gerstein and Denise Albert hosted a event at Planet Hollywood in Time Square, we all had breakfast while talking to Rick Springfield. Not a bad way to spend the morning. I think we all were a little giddy meeting him, especially when we broke out in song Jessie's Girl! I gave from a rose ProFlowers, we hugged and chatted. Its hard to believe he is 64, and still a full head of hair and rocking out. Well Dr Noah Drake remember him from General Hospital ,http://abc.go.com/shows/general-hospital still has "it" and his book is thought provoking and very humorous. 

What to wear when meeting RICK for breakfast, I was going to wear my leather pants, but …..who am I kidding, to early to sqeeeeeze into them. So I just went with happy colors and www.MySilpada.com/Cherie.Corso to add a little more color. The debate among the ladies was "it it his real hair" I say yes, just a bad dye job, some thought plugs or wig, whatever is sitting ontop of his head looked  dam good for 64.
