I loved having a fresh eye when I had a professional organizer come to my home, after I used the ideas she gave me I noticed the chi was flowing, yes the energy felt so much better, after bags were donated and old toys and furniture given away. Organization is an integral part of feng shui. Feng shui is, ultimately, about energy flow. Clutter, disorganization and grime are all energy blocks. Those energy blocks can be removed with an investment of time, attention and sometimes, money. When you make a point of surrounding yourself with only the things you love and use regularly and you spend time caring for them, there’s going to be more flow in your life. Everywhere you look you’ll see things that remind you of love and purpose. You’ll be able to spend more time in appreciation. That’s focus first on organization, clutter clearing and a good green cleaning with my clients. All of those things set the stage for enhanced energy flow and allow space for new, beneficial things and experiences to come in. Katia was great, she had two baskets and we sorted and thre away in seconds, as my heat raced thinking…omg I might need that! LOL, some of the doodads have been in the draws for years, never !Beauty and Inspiration A common feng shui strategy is to choose art and other objects that depict things you'd like to see manifest in your life, whether success, love or inner peace. In the bedroom, practitioners suggest hanging your favorite piece of art on the wall opposite your bed. "The last thing you see before you go to sleep and the first thing you see when you open your eyes should be something that makes you feel joyful and inspired,"

IMG_1662If your direct view from the bed is of an adjoining bathroom or a messy closet, screen those views with curtains, folding screens or simply by closing the door. Also, put down the toilet seat at night, lest the bedroom's energy go right down the drain.

Another thing not to place opposite, next to or over the bed (and definitely not on the ceiling, which is a crime against more than just feng shui) is a mirror. In addition to bouncing too much energy around the room to allow for good rest, these reflective surfaces are thought to magnify problems and worries — and some feng shui practitioners even say that mirrors in the bedroom can invite a third party to interfere in your relationship. But no worries, just move or soften the mirror, hang a curtain, place plant in front.

Energy:  Here, I’m talking about “raising your vibrations”. If that’s setting off your woo-woo meter, please stay with me. The purpose of organizing is to raise your energy levels. When we focus on expansion and increasing our energy levels, we’re able to do more, have more fun, spend more time in appreciation and enjoyment. We have more energy to transform our negative thought patterns and feelings into ones that feel better. I’m talking about being “on top of your game”. That’s the goal, here. Getting to that goal requires that you focus energy, time and appreciation on your physical space because you are a part of reflects who you are.

COLOR, go for it!
