Happy Earth Day 2014, Tips for your whole Family, can’t hurt but does help!

IMG_4278IMG_4439
Did you ever wonder what Earth Day is?

The April 22nd Earth Day was founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson. It was organized in 1970 to promote ecology and to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water and soil pollution. Many people and groups celebrate by planting trees, organizing conservation petitions, picking up roadside trash, and other environmental friendly outdoor activities. Those of us not involved in these larger structured activities can still make a big difference!

How can you help?

You can celebrate Earth Day 2014 by pledging to make any number of small lifestyle changes! Here are some ideas:

  • Throw cans, newspapers, plastics, junk mail into a recycle bin instead of the garbage. Its much easier then you think if you just try.
  • Turn off the water while brushing your teeth, this is a easy one, right?
  • Turn off lights when you’re leaving a room, evn if you have energy saving light bulbs TURN the lights off.
  • Unplug appliances when not using them, yes even phone chargers, coffee makers, anything not being used. Walk ride your bike when you can.
  • Check the air in your tires. Underinflated tires not only increase the wear but also decrease fuel economy leading to increased pollution.
  • If deciding between two products to purchase, pick the one with the least packaging, also bring a canvas bag to the food store, it does help
  • Filter your tap water to drink instead of buying bottled water, we have the BEST tap water here in NewYork, drink from the tap. Tap is back!
  • Tend to faucet leaks or running toilets quickly
  • If buying a new appliance, look for Energy Star products
  • Clean your dryer filter after every load
  • Use healthy organic health and beauty products on your body www.g2organics.com
  • Change your home air filters regularly
  • Use real herbs and spices when cooking, cut down on "fake flavors" that are in a lot of packaged food . We can all try just a little harder today, everything does help our planet. I tried going "GREEN" 100% of the time and it was hard to do. But now I  am GREEN 65% of the time and my family does live a healthier life because of the choices. Have a great day and give it someof these tips a try! We are all in this together!IMG_0648

How to protect your hair from Chlorine!! By Julia Corso

As a kid who loves to swim and spends a lot of time in the pool. I notice as temperatures climb , I find myself going for a cold dunk  in the pool. Swimming is most peoples  favorite summer activity. It's a body workout thats fun. But there is one bad side about swimming in the pool, it has so much chlorine

"Chlorine is used as a disinfectant to kill harmful bacteria in the water. This keeps you from getting sick from E. coli and other nasty germs, but it also strips out the natural oils that protect your hair from damage and daily wear. Since I don't want my hair to turn into hay, I've learned to coat my strands with hair product before I jump into the pool." – MIN-JA LEE

so i have some tips so that cant happen

1. put coconut oil in hair before and after swim

2.try Pantene pro-v bb cream

3. shower imidetely after swim shampoo and condition an leave condoner until next swim TRY ONES BELOW
