Mom’s have been wearing all year at the GYM! Spring 2015 Hair Trends
Wow, you like? I just threw my hair up!
New do's or just messy hair with a new twist, whatever it is I'm in. If you are not sure what style will look best for your hair length and texture? Not to fear! Houte Living rounded up the hottest hair trends of spring 2015—from sleek pixie cuts, to beachy tousled waves—so you can welcome the warmer weather in style.
ROCK-N-ROLL PIXIE CUT
For a shorter hairstyle with a rocker twist, opt for all-over texture like Rita Ora and Jennifer Lawrence. Unlike traditional pixie cuts, messy, side-swept bangs keep this style looking feminine and oh-so-sexy. Feeling extra bold? Add a few face framing highlights or pump up the volume with a dollop of mousse or texturizing spray.
TEXTURED LOB
This spring, it’s all about easy-breezy natural-looking locks. And sorry ladies, but it may be time to retire your flatiron—super-straight long manes are a thing of the past. Sexy shoulder-length cuts, like those sported by Kim Kardashianand Olivia Palermo, are going to be all the rage this season.
HALF-UP TOP KNOT
Whether you’re running errands or hitting the town, some days you just want to pull your hair back off your face. And let’s face it, nothing looks hotter than when you look like your not trying. To re-create this style at home, grab a top section of hair and make a loose bun. Don’t worry about fly-aways or perfecting the perfect part—this hairstyle looks best messy.
BEACH WAVES
Long, layered waves have been around for ages, and thankfully, they’re not going anywhere! To master this look at home, wrap small sections of hair around a large-barreled curling iron and spray with a spritz of hairspray. To keep your curls looking more beachy, be sure to only curl the hair up to your cheekbones and run your fingers through when finished to keep everything from looking too perfect.
SIDE FISHTAIL BRAID
Braids are one of the most versatile hairstyle in existence—and for good reason! They complement little black dresses or hoodie sweatshirts and work with hair of all textures. To create a boho look like Shailene Woodley and Sarah Hyland, make the braid a little looser by slightly pulling it apart after braiding. Let a few face-framing strands hang loose.
TOUSLED PONYTAIL
The difference between this ponytail and the one you wear to the gym—volume! For a chic finishing touch, wrap a strand of hair around the elastic.
Hair trend fauxhawk for the ladies with long hair! TRY IT!
Hair trend fauxhawk for the ladies with long hair! TRY IT!
Rita Ora wore this hairstyle the same day it showed up on the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway, and then Cara Delevingne was snapped out with a version of it. It's the knotted fauxhawk, according to the Urban Dictionary
I will call it the Mohawk up do, don't cut just tuck and pin. It's no frauxhawk (you know what that is, don't you?), but it's definitely becoming a trend. And, sure mohawks, topknots, and topknot-mohawks aren't an entirely new concepts, but the look is gaining popularity and I can't wait to try it. You see and will be be seeing more of this style popping up more on the streets soon. And now you'll be able to say you know exactly when it how it made the turn. I don't like the shaved sides on head, I like the hair just combed slick and pinned and knotted on top.
