NORWEGIAN GETAWAY rendering, courtesy NCLI was invited by my two favorite Moms Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein,THE MOMS along with my families  to spend the day on board The Norwegian Getaway, in NYC Peir 88. I was very uneasy excepting this invite because I get seasick, and almost got killed on the last ship I was on.  Also the mention of boats and I feel qweezy adding the fact that  I had a horrible experience  on my first cruise. I swore  I would never ever NEVER ever ever get on a cruise ship again. Well here I am a Mom, with a adventurous family and  a invite by  THE MOM's women I trust. This is our day on the NORWEGIAN GETAWAY@CruiseNorwegian

The outside of the  ship is spectacular, my daughter and I love mermaids, and the design with the mermaid  was breathtaking, fun and inviting. So far so good. Norwegian Breakaway revolutionized cruising with its Waterfront and strong connection to New York. Norwegian Getaway will do the same as Miami’s ultimate ship, offering the only way to cruise the Caribbean from Miami with a plethora of incredible features.”

 I was happy to hear that this cruise line has sacred 100 on VSP inspection crew said the Norwegian Getaway is the newest and most advanced cruise vessel on the sea, and has lots of stabilizers and mechanics to keep the ship stable in high seas. I had to ask. The latest engine technology, the pod drive system, improved hydrodynamics as well as effective energy saving, heat recovery and ballast water treatment guarantee an ecological cruise experience at significantly reduced operating costs. Having been a boat owner, this is one BIG ship. 

Similar to sister ship NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY, NORWEGIAN GETAWAY dazzles guests with the excitement of 678 Ocean Place and The Waterfront, a variety of interconnected indoor and outdoor venues on three dynamic decks that creates a multiplex of dining, activities and more, and enhances guests’ connection with the ocean.  Norwegian Getaway also features Miami’s coolest place to chill out – the ship’s SVEDKA/Inniskillin Ice Bar, featuring Art.I made it..and LOVED it!

Of course  they also have internet connection. YEAH, but so many activities, I don't think we will be using it. Foodies setting sail from Miami on NORWEGIAN GETAWAY can feast in their choice of 27 incredible dining options, including Celebrity Chef and Food Network star Geoffrey Zakarian’s three dining concepts: Ocean Blue by Geoffrey Zakarian; Ocean Blue on the Waterfront and The Raw Bar. Buddy Valastro, star of the popular TLC series “Cake Boss” also has an outpost of his famous Carlo’s Bakery onboard, serving up delicious treats like cannolis, lobster tails and specialty cakes.

My daughters eyes lit up when she saw the  three-story Sports Complex features the Aqua Park with five thrilling water slides, two swimming pools and one of the largest multi-level elevated ropes course that challenge guests to more than 40 different elements, including a zip track.  I will defiantly not be doing the plank IM also afraid of heights. The Plank, a platform that extends eight feet over the side of the ship. For some fun for us NO WAY, but will watch.  A nine-hole miniature golf course is located beneath the ropes course, offering family fun with friendly competition.  A rock climbing wall, bungee trampoline and spider web, a 24-foot enclosed climbing cage complete with a spiral slide, round out the activities.
