MOM’s Spring Clean YOURSELF! When you feel good YOU look good!

MOM's  Spring Clean YOURSELF!  When you feel good YOU look good!

PastedGraphic-5

We all know about auras, but one other important thing to note about the energy surrounding you is that auras are like magnets. They are always picking up vibrational energies that are floating around, and they do so everywhere we go. That’s why it’s super essential to cleanse our auras freeing them of foreign vibrations and negative energies, especially if you are a particularly empathetic, intuitive person who picks up on other people’s energies. Luckily, it’s quite a simple process, and there are many ways to do it.

METHOD 1: VISUALIZE YOUR AURA

Go sit in a quiet, distraction-free zone in your house. Stay seated comfortably in a position you can relax in for about 15 minutes doing some de-stressing breathing exercises. Be conscious of what you’re doing, and be aware of your inhale and exhale movements. You can even meditate for a bit. Once you find yourself beginning to totally relax, form a white light in your mind and have it surround you. Allow it to flow throughout you, from the tips of your toes to the top of your head, and visualize it moving up and down your back near your spine. If you get distracted or thrown off, you can get yourself back on track by revisualizing the white light and controlling your breathing.IMG_8279

METHOD 2: DISCARD YOUR NEGATIVE ENERGY

We’ve all been around a downer person. You know, a person who is completely negative, always has something bad to say about any given topic, and generally has a big frowns face on more than a smiley one. This person affects more than just themselves, though; she’s distributing negative energy to you whenever you’re around her. Thus, your aura will get dimmer. One way to protect yourself is to make sure you surround yourself with more positive people than negative ones. Cut out the ones that are negative, once you figure it out. Find positive people who think like you, who always have a smile to offer, and who have kind souls. These are the people that can help offset the negativity collecting in your aura.chakra energy

METHOD 3: CLEANSE YOUR OWN NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

Still have negative energy wafting around? You might have to look inwardly make sure you are’t the poop in your life! Start paying attention to your thoughts. Are there a lot of negative ones? Take a look at them. Are they untrue, delusional, or paranoid? All the more reason to chuck them out. Focus on the bright side of things; it really does help! If you are having a really bad day, it’s okay to express your bad feelings, but don’t wallow in that place. Make your day a good one by treating yourself to your favorite tea. Play your favorite song of the moment. Find a friend to hang out with. If you notice that a negative thought is trying to creep in, confront it with a positive one. If you keep practicing this, you will be able to conquer the effects of negative thinking.images-22

METHOD 4: CREATE A PROTECTION BUBBLE

This is the most commonly practiced ways of protecting the aura. Practitioners praise it as a beautiful way to connect them to the Divine, and when it’s done in the mornings, it’s a defining positive note for the start of their days.

Here’s how you do it. Imagine white light coming down from the Divine, God, the Universe, whatever your higher power is. Connect this light to the crown of your head, and then let it spill out over you and down under your feet. You are now surrounded by a white light bubble. White is pure and thus, highly protective. It is also full of love from our Divine. Now that your bubble is around you, you are protected from any negative energy coming inside your bubble.

You can now change the color if you’d like to change the protection and power. You can also add mirrors to reflect away any negative energy if you are going somewhere you know will have negative energy or if it will have a large group of people.

METHOD 5: GET ENERGY HEALINGS

Sometimes you need to get your energies realigned, and an energy healing will clear any blockages you might have. Healers can also check for negative entities or emotional cords that may need to be cut. Don’t underestimate the power of these energy checkups, and they can impact your energy tremendously! You might find your mood swings, imbalanced emotions, or connections you can’t seem to get rid of are all fixed once your energy is realigned, and thus help you be at your best to protect your energy. I do energy clearing and have helped many people feel better. MOM's  Spring Clean YOURSELF!  When you feel good YOU look good!godmagic

METHOD 6: SMUDGE YOUR AURA REGULARLY

Smudging is a Native American practice using white sage to cleanse any negative energy. It’s similar to the house cleaning ritual we showed you in regards to Feng Shui. You can cleanse your house, people, and things. We recommend doing it after you’ve had a lot of people in your home, or after you’ve had a lot of energy drained.images

Why do we list so many methods? Because it can get boring doing the same thing every day, and everyone’s auras are different. Depending on the color and size of yours, you may respond differently to different methods, so try them all, mix them up, and figure out what works the best for you. Make sure you stay consistent though; bad energies do creep up on us at nearly every moment, so push them out and seize the day! Life is short be happy!

Grown-up Mean Girls: Dealing with Mom Bullies By Allison Ford

Grown-up Mean Girls: Dealing with Mom Bullies

Anyone who says that childishness is solely the province of children has obviously never spent much time in modern parenting circles. It’s a sad fact of life that some people never grow out of being bullies—they just get older, meaner, and richer (although no less likely to steal your lunch money).

Being a mom these days is hard; there’s a pressure to be perfect that many previous generations of parents simply never felt. Modern moms are expected to nurture their brilliant little organic humanitarians with esoteric taste in music, and in the quest for modern parenting’s brass ring—a scholarship to Yale or a MacArthur genius grant—many moms end up so desperate to prove what a great job they’re doing that they end up making other moms feel like they’re failing.

Whether it’s the president of the PTA, a member of your playgroup, or even the parent of the kids next door, everyone knows women (and men) who make a point of belittling and berating other parents. Gone are the days when silly disagreements could be fought out at the bike rack after school, but there are still ways to deal with sanctimonious mothers who think they always know best.

The Green Meanie

This mom purées her own baby food from organic veggies she grows herself. She uses cloth diapers, dye-free bamboo fabric, cruelty-free lotions, and PBA-free plasticware, and she may even eschew vaccines in order to prevent her precious angel from ever coming into contact with a single chemical. All that effort may make her feel superior to the terrible monsters who let their children play with traditional toys instead of lead-free wooden blocks, but don’t forget that organic living is just a lifestyle choice, not a surefire path to healthier, happier, or smarter kids. So just relax about buying your baby shampoo at Wal-Mart instead of Whole Foods. When confronted by a mom who can’t fathom that not everyone has time to farm her own mangoes for hand-churned sorbet, ask her whether the landfill space saved by using cloth diapers really mitigates the carbon footprint of the delivery drivers and industrial machines her diaper service uses.

The Braniac Maniac

“You haven’t signed up your infant for preschool-entrance test prep yet?” wonders this mother of an overachiever. “Howwill he get into a good college if you don’t start now?” The parents of any child who’s simply playing or having fun must surely be unfit, because for this mom it’s all about enrichment, whether it’s Baby Einstein videos, Omega-3-enriched brain foods, electrolyte-enhanced water, SAT prep, summer violin camp, or extracurricular activities that are sure to make Baby smarter and look great on a college application. Well, Baby Einstein videos have been proven a scam, as have most “enrichment” aids for young children. Test prep can be valuable for high schoolers looking to go to a competitive college, but up until then, the experiences of goofing off, playing, and just being a kid are invaluable. Plus, allowing a child to be a child can save parents money on therapy costs later.

The Food Freak

Her child brings his own snacks when he comes to play. She crusades against birthday cake at school, and not only does she never allow her child to indulge in sweets, soda, candy, white flour, or any other food foe du jour, she also tries to make sure that yours doesn’t, either. Childhood obesity is a serious concern, and her intentions to keep kids healthy and slim may be noble, but the next time she asks you how you could ever allow your child to enjoy a Popsicle on a hot summer day, simply say, “You know, it’s impossible to keep kids away from junk food forever. Rather than make it seem more appealing by restricting it, we prefer to teach our child moderation. Don’t you think that’s more realistic?”

The Lactivist

Not breastfeeding your child is akin to child abuse, according to this know-it-all mom, who constantly extols the supposed benefits of breastfeeding: Calmer tummies! Fewer colds! Higher IQs! Every mother and every child is different, and whether or not to breastfeed remains a decidedly personal choice. After all, it’s not as if you can pick out the bottle-fed kids on the playground by their sickly pallor or lack of vitality. There are perfectly legitimate medical and personal reasons not to breastfeed, so any time a lactivist starts in on a lecture about the evils of the bottle, simply say, “I don’t feel comfortable discussing my personal medical history with you, but my doctor and I have decided that breastfeeding is not for me. Formula is perfectly well equipped to meet an infant’s nutritional needs, and I also rather enjoy not having cracked or bleeding nipples.”

The PTA Pain

She’s the chair of every school committee, she’s the third-grade room mother, and she’s first in line to volunteer to sit in the dunk tank at the school carnival. Any school is lucky to have a mom who is so dedicated, but some of these busy-bee mothers have a way of making anyone who gives any less than they do feel like a delinquent parent. The next time you’re badgered into chaperoning a field trip or working a bake sale against your will, have a private conversation with the PTAPain, reminding her that while other parents are grateful for her dedication, not everyone’s schedule or budget allows for such an outlay of time and money. If the harassment doesn’t stop, don’t regret limiting the activities you participate in or declining future requests for volunteers. After all, your child’s education isn’t tied to the number of hours of unpaid labor you perform.

Unfortunately, there’s no suppressing the human instinct to tell others what to do and how they could do it better. Parenting is no different, and with every mom and dad struggling to get it right, decisions about childcare philosophies are rife with opportunities for disagreement and resentment. Why parenting inspires such heated battles is the subject of endless debate. Some people are likely insecure about their choices and looking for validation; other people are desperate to prove that their way of parenting is the “right way.” And inevitably, just like in every other area of life, some people are just jerks.

I would like to thank my guest blogger Allison Ford, you are right on MaMa! 🙂

New England Patriots, Deflate Gate offers 5 teachable moments for kids!

New England Patriots, "Deflate Gate" offers 5 teachable moments for kids!IMG_8066

Deflate gate is a teachable moments. I love Tom Brady and The Super Bowl, dressing in Patriots colors and having fun. That will not be taken away because of "de-flategate". Children need to know that no organization is 100% pure, for instance. According to the New York Post, the other Super Bowl team, the Seahawks, leads the league in performance-enhancing drug suspensions. And it’s important to emphasize that people (or teams) shouldn't’t be defined by their worst actions. The Barry Bonds Family Foundation helps fund outreach programs for African-American youth in San Francisco. If they cheated, they must be held accountable, like Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez, the highest paid player in the history of baseball, came  clean about his use of steroids in the last decade as part of an immunity deal with the Drug Enforcement Association. The truth will come out.IMG_8056

I always say think about the consequences of how you will eventually be viewed because of your actions today. Just because people accuse does not make it true. According to http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/deflategate-patriots-tom-brady-colts/ Pro-Football-Reference’s expected points metric, which tracks how many net points are added by each play after accounting for down, distance and field position, Tom Brady and the Patriots’ passing offense added 14.1 points to the team’s margin. By contrast, Andrew Luck and the Colts contributed -10.5 expected points through the air, so the difference among the two teams’ passing production was worth about 24.6 points of scoring margin to the Patriots — still about two touchdowns shy of the Colts’ entire scoreboard deficit. The proof is in the record.

I would like to offer some parenting advice and  talking points concerning this "deflate gate, I think it can open great conversation

1. Talk about our moral value

2. Talk about why people cheat inadequacy or they worry about underperforming

3. Talk about consequences, reparably damage their relationships with their peers.

4. Talk about  accusations overpower your love for The New England Patriots or any sport and what it means to be a fan and just enjoy.

5.  Talk about how to cope with the disappointment of loosing or finding out that somebody cheated and how to handle it.

Whatever the outcome of the game, take the opportunity to have fun and enjoy, truthfully I like the game, enjoy the commercials and halftime entertainment with my friends and family the most ! IMG_8059

My meeting Dance Moms, Abby Lee Miller and Parenting

My meeting  Dance Moms,  Abby Lee Miller and Parenting IMG_7852Abby Lee Miller, star of Dance Mom's is the ultimate tiger mom with heart and insight on how to employ tough-love to inspire children to achieve success. “If you want to help your kid reach the top, you can find no better coach than Abby Lee Miller. Some may criticize her methods,  but no one argues with her results. Her kids excel, (at what price)  her teams win and her alumni go on to Broadway careers,” reads the publisher’s description about her new book.IMG_7853

I was curious to meet Abby Lee too. After hearing the good the bad and the ugly  about Abby Lee from my daughter and her friends.  I wanted to meet AbbyLee in person, to see what she was really like. We  purchased tickets $75.00 each, which includes meet and greet, T-Shirt, introduction and photo. The pictures tell the story, but I will tell you my  personnel read on Abby LeeMiller. She looked fabulous, slimmed down, weight loss was well over 50 lbs. She was tanned and very friendly and a beautiful smile. We chatted a bit about parenting and kids. I liked her style, very direct, truthful and upfront. My daughter had her picture with Maddie Ziegler  and Mackenzie Ziegler the girls,  "put her feet together" she instructed . I think she has the knowledge, experience and the drive to push her "BRAND" to a new frontier. IMG_7851

HOWEVER as a mother I do have a problem with depersonalization of girls being depicted or treated as sexual objects. I was gobslapped watching the video of Maddie Ziegler in a cage. I know Abby Lee did not choreograph but still, uncomfortable to watch.

I am all for the arts and creativity, but  I do not like inappropriate imageries  imposed on girls through marketing or products directed at them that encourages them to act in adult sexual ways. Why, after the video "Elastic Heart" starring Shia LaBeouf and Maddie Ziegler, choreographed by Ryan Heffington. As a mother I am mad!  After the video was made & launched then everyone  saw the light and realized is was  wrong? They knew exactly what they were doing when making this video. The girls I know who love Dance Moms said this video was "uncomfortable  to watch, and who is the old guy?" The public has spoken, the kids like the dances and AbbyLee yelling at the mothers, the girls who watch do not want to see the sexualization of " Dance Moms"  girls.

Healing Begin! Protesting must STOP,No More ‘Die-Ins’ at Grand Central, Mom speaks up for NYPD and Law Enforcement

IMG_7887All lives are valued, I hear what the protesters are saying, I feel the pain, I understand, BUT the disruption must stop and the healing must begin. “Die-ins” (when protesters lie down and block traffic)  will no longer be permitted at Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal, Metropolitan Transportation Authority officials said Tuesday, after a month of nightly protests at the station.

IMG_7905 I found myself smack in the middle of a protest, at Grand Central Station. I asked one protester to stop I said "please use your time and energy to be more constructive, educate and help communities instead of causing disruption."  Well, thank GOD all law enforcement was present.  They were amazing, and saved me from the anger coming from the mob.  The lack of support by Mayor de Blasio  toward NYPD is unconscionable. These men and women put their lives on the line everyday, and I just could not stand back any longer watching and walk through a protest without standing up for NYPD and all law enforcement and the chaos these protesters cause.

The healing must begin now, the lack of leadership by our mayor is hard to ignore. But as a citizen these are some suggestions from this MOM:

1.Show respect for authority, it starts in the home and at schools

2.Obey the law, if stopped by police be calm. You will have your turn to speak in court

3.Volunteer in your community, make a difference take responsibility for your action, do not be a blamer

4.Have hope, do not give up stay positive, you can make a difference

5.Monitor your balance

Make Your New Year’s Resolutions With Self-Love for 2015

Make Your New Year’s Resolutions With Self-Love for 2015!!

images-5

“New

It often seems that with the new year come New Year’s Resolutions. They’re usually some variation of “work harder,” “try harder,” “do more” and “deprive yourself.”

I thought I’d share an excerpt from Kahlil Gibran’s beautiful and wise words about work from The Prophet.

      . . . . Work is love made visible.

And if you cannot work with love but only with distaste, it is better that you should leave your work and sit at the gate of the temple and take alms of those who work with joy.

For if you bake bread with indifference, you bake a bitter bread that feeds but half man's hunger.

And if you grudge the crushing of the grapes, your grudge distills a poison in the wine.

And if you sing though as angels, and love not the singing, you muffle man's ears to the voices of the day and the voices of the night.images-4

Parenting Expert Worries for Jolie & Pitt's Gender-Bender Daughter

Monday, 29 Dec 2014 03:43 PM

 Article |

The decision by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to let their 8-year-old daughter go by the name of John and wear boys' clothes could trigger gender issues down the road, parenting expert Cherie Corso says.

"This child needs guidance. Maybe she sees her parents playing different roles and is dressed up and she's playing at a role, but as far as changing her name to John, it's ridiculous," Corso said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

Story continues below video.

"Parents need to guide and protect their children, and Brad and Angelina should not be considered trailblazing for parenthood at all. They live in the happy forest of Hollywood, let's say."

The superstar couple supports their blonde, blue-eyed daughter Shiloh's desire to be called John and wear masculine outfits.

Shiloh recently raised eyebrows as she attended the premiere of her mother's holiday blockbuster, the PG-13 movie "Unbroken," attired in a suit and sporting a boyish haircut.
Corso said that could be harmful.

"I’m all for diversity, but Angelina is running her crew like she's running a movie set. Okay, we need someone transgender, can we pull someone in?" Corso told host Steve Malzberg.

"It's very dangerous what she's doing. I really, truly, as a mom and a parenting expert, my heart goes out to this little girl."

Corso said Jolie's own gender history might play a part.

"Sometimes you have to look back at the parent's relationship with their own mother and father — and I know that Angelina in the news has been bisexual," she said.

"She has been seen French-kissing her brother on the red carpet. I mean, you're not dealing with the traditional mother like myself, so this does cause social and gender confusion."

Yet Shiloh's role-playing may be completely innocent, Corso says.

"She does have two brothers, and maybe she just wants to be one of the guys and maybe she sees the privileges that they're getting and she just might be one of the guys," Corso said.

"But again, I have to stress that this child needs to explore her own identity . . . in a private way."

In a 2010 interview with Vanity Fair, Jolie said of Shiloh's tomboy style: “She likes tracksuits, she likes [regular] suits. So, it’s a suit with a tie and a jacket and slacks, or a tracksuit. She likes to dress like a boy.

"She wants to be a boy, so, we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”

In a 2010 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Pitt explained: "She only wants to be called John. John or Peter. So, it's a Peter Pan thing. So, we've got to call her John. 'Shi, do you want . . .' — 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?' And she goes, 'No!' "

Jolie, who has been married three times, is well known for her own gender bending on and off the screen.

She played a bisexual fashion model in the 1998 HBO movie "Gia." She was once hot and heavy with model Jenny Shimizu, saying in a 1997 interview with Girlfriends magazine: "I fell in love with her the first second I saw her."

Jolie, Pitt Allow Daughter to Dress Like a Boy, Call Her ‘John’

Jolie, Pitt Allow Daughter to Dress Like a Boy, Call Her 'John'

As seen on Fox and Friends

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made headlines in recent days after their 8-year-old daughter appeared on the red carpet wearing a suit.

The couple have said in recent years that their daughter, Shiloh, only wants to dress like a boy and insists on being called "John."

Jolie downplayed the issue in 2010, saying, “Some kids wear capes and want to be Superman and she wants to be like her brothers. It’s who she is. It’s been a surprise to us and it’s really interesting, but she’s so much more than that – she’s funny and sweet and pretty.”

On "Fox and Friends" today, we heard a spirited debate about whether a child should be choosing their gender identity at such a young age.

Lyss Stern, CEO of Divamoms.com, said Jolie and Pitt are doing the right thing by letting Shiloh express herself. She said all parents should make their child "feel comfortable in their own skin."

Anna Kooiman asked how this is any different from a girl playing with toy guns instead of dolls.

Parenting expert Cherie Corso said those are examples of healthy role-playing, but criticized Jolie and Pitt for exposing their daughter to possible "ridicule."

Stern countered that it's just about "letting a child be a child" at this point.

Corso said the celebrity couple should not be "trailblazers" for parenting, pointing out that they home-school their kids and do not live a traditional lifestyle.

Watch the debate above.

During my debate I also quoted our Pope Francis "who are we to judge" I was praised and slammed on  social media because I made reference to my region. To my pleasure, reading the New York Post today I saw this picture of Angelina Jolie meeting with our Pope. AMEN!10931380_10203070194385705_733705813985290750_n awww this Catholic girl is happy!

Give Your Kid a credit Debit card see how quickly they learn about MONEY!

IMG_3405
Mom's, listen up, the best thing I ever did was give my kid a debit card!  Your child will learn more from this then you can even imagine. Some kids just see us pull out our credit cards and wala instant merchandise. I wanted to show the process, as a entrepreneur I encouraged my daughter to "take the challenge" and  start a "FUN" business over  the summer. I took it a step further and gave her a debit card to buy whatever she wanted as long as she was accountable for the money in the account.  The debit card  was in my name, her possession, kept tight in in her  little cupcake wallet in her bag.
